Bush, Obama aides simulate terrorism attack

Aides to US President George W Bush and his successor Barack Obama have held a joint exercise at the White House simulating a terrorist attack on several American cities.

They received a briefing in which they discussed government responses to scenarios such as nuclear, chemical or biological attacks.

They also responded to a simulated outbreak of pandemic flu and natural disasters.

The exercise is part of an unprecedented effort to ensure a smooth handover to Mr Obama on January 20. ....
